If I asked you, how big is your lawn? Could you answer me? How many square feet is it? Knowing this will be a vital component of your lawn care journey. By knowing this number you’ll be able to apply the correct amount of fertilizer, seeds etc… For me, I have this number written down for quick reference.
A few methods of measuring include:
- Walking the perimeter of your lawn, estimating that one step equals 2.5 ft & wide stride equals 3 ft
- Using a satellite view to measure off the internet. measuremylawn.com
- Using a long tape measure.
Depending on your yard it may be helpful to measure different sections of your lawn: front, back, side, etc…
