Beat the Heat with liquid sea kelp

Liquid sea kelp is an easy way to help your lawn during the summer with increasing heat and decreasing rain.  Kelp is a generic term. It’s seaweed or, in other words, plants of the sea.  If you’ve,  ever gone fishing, you likely know what I mean.  Just like the plants on the land, there are many different varieties of sea kelp.

Kelp is a valuable source of minerals, cytokinins and antioxidants.  It benefits your lawn by:

  1. Enhancing root growth
  1. Improves color and lawn hardiness
  1. Improves resistance to stress from disease, drought and insects
  1. Promotes seed germination
  1. Increases plant carbohydrate production
  1. Increases chlorophyll production and photosynthesis

I like to apply kelp mixed with my humic acid in the summer months.  I’ll typically apply 3-4 oz per 1000 sqare feet of each every other week.
